Cops on Top set for April 10
March 19 2026
AUBURN, Ala. — Local law enforcement agencies will rally in support of Lee County Special Olympics during the annual Cops on Top fundraiser on Friday, April 10. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kroger stores in Auburn and Opelika.
Officers from the Auburn Police Department will be stationed at the Kroger on Dean Road, while the Opelika Police Department, with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, will host the event at the Tiger Town Kroger.
As part of the Cops on Top tradition, some officers will take their post on the rooftops of the stores, while others will greet customers and accept donations alongside Special Olympics athletes near the entrances.
A $5 lunch will be served at both locations from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The meal includes chips, a drink and a brat or hot dog. All proceeds benefit Lee County Special Olympics.
Cops on Top is a regional fundraising and awareness campaign supporting Special Olympics, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Community members are encouraged to stop by either Kroger location to support the cause and help make a difference in the lives of local athletes.
